I really do miss away matches

This thread ties in with the memorable trip to Southampton a year ago but this is about away games and how much I miss them.

Good and bad over the years. Being refused entry to Dean Court on bank holiday Monday late eighties due to intoxication.  Winning at Ayresome Park in Pleats first season, Macalister scored a blinder. Fans swallow diving off the floodlights at Oxford in the FA Cup. Many many more and of course last season at Southampton.

So do I. I miss them more than home games. Tbh I've always preferred going away over home.

 

Didn't really hit me til we played Man City last month. Not only because of the result but because it's one of my favourite away days.

I stopped going away over the previous 6 months before lockdown as the atmosphere was honestly embarrassing. 

 

I miss the bits before the games though

Cardiff, first game after Vichai was killed. The singing after the game when all of the players and staff came over to our corner of the ground.

That sticks in the memory.
