British Cycling Triumphs

[gerblod]

Just caught up with the news that Lizzie Deignan has won this season's Paris-Roubaix (aka Hell of the North) after an 80k solo breakaway - finishing over a minute up on Marianne Vos.

This is the toughest Classic in pro cycling. Anyone who's familiar with the sport will know what an awesome achievement this is for Lizzie.

Hats off too to Joss Lowden for breaking the hour distance record for female cyclists. Another incredible achievement - considering the previous record had been accomplished at altitude in Mexico City.

Saturday before last she performed outstandingly well in the 'Worlds' both in the Women's road race and the TT a week before.

Absolutely  brilliant ride from Lizzie. This race is probably the toughest one day race. Its great for women's cycling that they have this race which has become so prestigious in the men's cycling calender and will hopefully be the same in the women's.
