I always thought that the theme used (Cavatina Composer Stanley Myers played by John Williams) was done specially for the film. Just watched a film on TCM called The Walking Stick made in 1970 starring David Hemmings and Samanter Eggar which also had the music in. I only remember hear the music after the Deer Hunter. Still a good piece of music. Should this be in the music section?
Head Honcho Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 Stanley Myers did the original music for both films so if not the same song they could be very similar, this happens quite often. A lot of John Barry and Michael Kamen tunes sound similar.

Underneath, things are not what they appear to be... In "Walking Stick" Samantha Eggar and David Hemmings give very fine and clear performances as unseeming Londoners. The actors were very hot and coveted starlets at the end of the sixties, starring in loads of ambitious films and then later never to be heard from again... Shame really, they´re brilliant.
