Junior Foxes Mini Euro 96

Was just remembering last night the 'Mini Euro 96' tournament for Junior Foxes members played on the pitch at Filbert Street and wondered if anyone else on here played in it too?

 

I remember Kevin Poole handing out the certificates at the end, and that the team you played for was based on the first letter of your surname so I ended up on the 'Switzerland' team.

 

Feels a million miles away from the kind of thing the club would put on for kids now.

I only remember there being England and Scotland, but there were two groups. Our group played on the pitch at the Filbert Street end and we got panned every game we played in. Guessing you must have been invited to it via some kind of ballot? I was only six so struggling to remember too much about it!

Was only 9 myself so have very little memory of it. I’ve seen the photos though, somewhere near halfway in kop end half. You’re right though, zero chance these days!

First I'm hearing of this, but the closest to my name alphabetically would be Bulgaria, so I'm hoping they would have had the good taste to add -ov to everyones' names for realism.
