Am surprised about the autor or composer of it being still unknown after so long..

 

'The English national anthem, "God Save the King", was first publicly performed in 1745. This makes it more than 280 years old. The exact composer and author are unknown. The tune was originally used for loyalty demonstrations during the Jacobite rebellion.'
