TrickyTrev Posted 26 September 2004 Posted 26 September 2004 Buy it. The most important release in pop history since 1967. My level of excitement about this album can't beging to be put into words, the worlds greatest living genius in any art form. A little history lesson!
TrickyTrev Posted 27 September 2004 Author Posted 27 September 2004 I give up, more reaction to Funeral For A Friend than there is Brian Wilson. The world has gone mad!
Guest freund Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 hey man, I love the Beach Boys! Will I like this then

A little history lesson! 22126 My son's a massive Brian Wilson/Beach Boys Fan, he has practically everything ever eleased by them. He's off-line at the moment having just moved back to London. BW has been a big influence on his music, he has his own website at greatcentral You can hear some of his music on garageband Let me know what you think and I'll pass your views on.
TrickyTrev Posted 27 September 2004 Author Posted 27 September 2004 hey man, I love the Beach Boys! Will I like this then 22493 It was going to be the Beach Boys follow up to Pet Sounds in 1967 but Brian Wilson had a mental breakdown and hid the tapes. They have been re-worked and re-recorded but the songs werw written back in the day and are genius.(its a given with Wilson). Basically you will like this if you like your pop music to be sophisticated and something close to perfection. Plus any album with Heroes and Villians, Good Vibrations and Surps Up on it can't be anything but amazing.
Guest freund Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 I might actually pay for it it sounds so good!

The garageband website is absaloutely fantastic.
Guest freund Posted 27 September 2004 Posted 27 September 2004 But will it be as good as Sgt. Peppers ?
TrickyTrev Posted 27 September 2004 Author Posted 27 September 2004 But will it be as good as Sgt. Peppers ? 22544 It is not, because he is now 60 years old and his voice is not up to it, had it been finished and released when it was uspoossed to, it would have been. Still Pet Sounds is better than any Beatles album anyway.

George Martin of Beatle fame is one of the sponsors. Even my other half posts her songs on there, unfortunately I can't appreciate it these days as my hearing is all buggered up.
Guest Posted 30 September 2004 Posted 30 September 2004 My dad loves the Beach Boys, his all time fave band. He had tickets to se them at the De Mont, back in the 60's, but the day before, his appendix burst. He never got the chance to see them again.
Guest freund Posted 10 October 2004 Posted 10 October 2004 I got Smile the other day. I like it, but prefer Pet Sounds
