The strongest confirmed fact remains that King Power is exploring a sale and Citigroup has been engaged in the process. Sky Sports reported that the sales material valued the package at about £224m, including the stadium, Seagrave training facilities, the men’s and women’s teams and OH Leuven.

The biggest development today is a report quoting former Everton CEO Keith Wyness suggesting King Power may ultimately have to accept something nearer £100m rather than the £200m+ valuation. Importantly, that is Wyness’s assessment, not evidence that a £100m bid has been accepted. He also believes a credible buyer could be operating quietly rather than appearing in the press.

There’s also continuing interest around Neil Lal’s Bharat Consortium. Lal has publicly said his group has made an offer and has been communicating directly with the club rather than going through Citigroup.

The Turki Alalshikh story is still alive too. Recent reporting says he has been discussed in connection with Leicester following the collapse of his Derby County move, but I haven’t found reliable confirmation that he has submitted an LCFC bid. The latest claims about how quickly he could obtain EFL approval are commentary from Wyness, rather than confirmation of a transaction.

And there’s one particularly interesting piece of official LCFC information: on 15 September Leicester announced that £8.5m of King Power funding had been converted into equity. The club specifically stated that there had been “no change to the ownership structure” and the Srivaddhanaprabha family remained the ultimate beneficial owners at that point.

So, as of tonight: the sale process appears real, but I can’t verify that a buyer has been selected, exclusivity granted, or a sale agreed. The rumours about a less-publicised American investor are worth watching, but at present I’m not seeing sufficiently strong independent reporting to treat that as established fact.

And on the Todd Boehly angle we’ve been watching, I still haven’t found solid evidence connecting him personally to an LCFC bid. The Citigroup connection by itself isn’t evidence of Boehly involvement

Unfortunately the most important word in this sentence is could.
