Jonesy_rules Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Hi, was just wondering if anyone could help me, i'm in my first year of a university course, and while i enjoy the course, i'm not sure if i'm at the right university for me, and was wondering if anyone could give me any information on how easy it is to transfer universities. I plan to see out the next 5months, as then my first year will be complete; however i would like to move back to my hometown, to be nearer to my family and girlfriend for the final two years of the course; but i'm not too sure how to go about it, nor how easy it is, and whether i'd have to re-take my first year, as i wouldn't really like too. Any adivce would be appreciated! Thanks
Jonesy_rules Posted 9 January 2006 Author Posted 9 January 2006 can't believe know one has managed to help, o well
syston_fox Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 talk to your personal tutor (assuming you have one at your university). If not, contact the head of your course and they should be able to give you all the info that you need.
syston_fox Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Ah right - Im at DMU at the moment. Sadly the main reason i went to a leicester uni is because of LCFC!
The People's Hero Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 I went to Uni of Leicester, partly because I'm a city fan.
Guest Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 talk to your personal tutor (assuming you have one at your university). Apparently, if you do drop out after passing x years, they count if you decide to go back to Uni.
Shum Posted 10 January 2006 Posted 10 January 2006 Aye up Jonesy. I think it also depends on whether Leicester offer a course that is very similiar to the course you are currently taking. First point of contact would be the personal tutor, and then go from there. If it helps mate, I felt like that : re: missing the family and friends, but I stuck at it, and ended up having the time of my life - I suppose it made me who I am today. It's a big decision, so don't rush it. Good luck pal.
Jonesy_rules Posted 10 January 2006 Author Posted 10 January 2006 Cheers everyone, will talk to my personal tutor, but on placement at the moment, may send her a quick email! Gonna talk to my parents about it this weekend, to see what they suggest! Nah didn't go to Hull uni, although that was one of my choices! I believe Leicester / DMU do they same course as the uni i'm at are joined with them!
