spirefox Posted 3 October 2004 Posted 3 October 2004 On a day of abysmal performances, the "supporters" yet again topped the lot. After a great start the team visibly began to lose confidence and ended up looking like a shambles, worsened considerably by the crowd. As MA clearly indicated, he isn't going to take much more, so well done the boo boys you've nearly got what you want.
Louise Posted 3 October 2004 Posted 3 October 2004 I didn't hear any booing yesterday until Micky's shocking decision to take Connolly off instead of Dublin (other than that directed at the ref). If Micky/the players want us to cheer they should give us something to cheer about, I thought the atmosphere was ok in the first 20 minutes when Benji scored, we hit the post and had a shot cleared from the line, when we stopped creating the crowd had nothing to cheer about. Or did I miss the part in the ST booklet where it said 'pay 300 quid to watch utter dire boring rubbish then get blamed for the performance because our players aren't professional enough to be able to string two passes together without having their names chanted constantly'?
spirefox Posted 3 October 2004 Author Posted 3 October 2004 Not booing is a long way from getting behind the team and trying to lift them when they so patently low on confidence. The lack of movement off the ball that prevents any decent passing play is mainly about confidence (except Dublin whose legs have gone)

I seriosly doubt it. It is down to the poor coaching and lack of intelligence of the players. Micky Adams should tell them to keep the ball on the ground, not hoofed up to Dublin. Face it mate, you ain't going to convince the 10,000 (or however many) that booed Micky Adams and the team off yesterday not to boo. I will voice my anger however I like it, and IMO cheering, and singing for LCFC at the mo ain't making an ounce of difference.

Scow Posted 3 October 2004 Posted 3 October 2004 It works both ways - The crowd have to get behind the team, but equally the players need to provoke that support. Does anyone just sit there feeling drained? It really is awful stuff, not sure how much more of this crap I can put up with. We played some good stuff in the early stages of the game, but as soon as Benji went off, we lost our way. It's shows how far we have fallen that our team revolves around Benji.....
spirefox Posted 3 October 2004 Author Posted 3 October 2004 Other club's fans can't believe how we are trying to self destruct our season and probably our chances of getting back up in the forseeable future.Getting rid of MA with neither any obvious replacement or any funds to reshape the team could set us back years.Three things that MA could do nothing about cost us the win yesterday ; Apalling refereeing,Trev getting injured and Fatty Pressman falling on his arse.

Bring off Williams and Dublin for starters, and replace them with players who actually want to wear the shirt!
New England Fox Posted 3 October 2004 Posted 3 October 2004 Sorry but whatever team you support, when you watch shit like we watched in the second half yesterday then your not going to cheer at all. Most of the people around me were sat in sheer bemusement at how awful the second half performance was. And Adams deserved to get booed for taking Connolly off instead of Dublin.
Guest Daniel Posted 3 October 2004 Posted 3 October 2004 Im glad we almost got out way, fantastic news.

However, I can not find anything that guarantees that we will be a championship winning club and play football like Brazil week in week out either. We are well on the way to becoming another PNE with shit players and shit fans. When were playing badly in the Premiership last year I don't remember the fans being as quiet as they are now, we only make a noise at the end to boo. When relegation threatened last season our vocal support was loud and proud. Now promotion looks unlikely, we can't be arsed.
Hoof Fox Posted 3 October 2004 Posted 3 October 2004 If we had continued to try and play as we were in the opening 20 minutes then I am sure the players would have got a rousing reception at the end of the game win, lose or draw. Funny Trev didnt seem to get booed got a standing ovation but then again he worked hard and really tried so your argument that we are at fault for the poor performances is rubbish. And also whilst you are complaining about our lack of passion and interest I didnt see to much in evidence from a majority of the players or MA who seemed quite happy sat on his arse. Must have been another rousing half time team talk for that 2nd half performance. Difference between us and Adams is he is paid handsomely to watch that shit and if he cocks it all up he will leave with compensation and go get a job elsewhere. Whilst we pay our hard earned money to watch our team play without passion and commitment and we will always be here....why should we accept what has been dished up as entertainment its crap.
