Why I am still backing Adams.

Right now I will probably get called a whole lot of derogatory names for making this post, but before I start I want to ensure that you understand that I am not attacking anyone elses opinion, simply giving mine.

I am of the opinion Adams should stay. Why? Here are my reasons:

Firstly Leicester are not in as bad a position as everyone thinks. We are mid-table in the Championship with just a quarter of the season gone. I know we have had some bad results at home but lets not forget the good ones as well, like a hard-fought 2-1 win at Derby, a comfortable win away at Gillingham (not an easy place to go, Leeds will vouch for that) and a few other wins. Yes we have had poor results, but we are not going to go up as easily as we did last time like a lot of Leicester fans seem to think.

Looking through Adams' history as Leicester manager. His first full season, he inherited a team rock bottom on confidence having just gone down with very few points. We had no money and were under a transfer embargo. We also were entering a new stadium which is usually a kiss of death for many teams. We started the season brightly only for a former player's agent to push us over the dark financial line and into adminstration. However, it takes a good manager and motivator to keep the players focussed on the job in hand and so we did and kept winning. Around Christmas time was a celebration as we heard we would finally be coming out of administration. It was then realised that the fact that we had kept our excellent form going through these terrible times was a job well done and a testament to the whole club, manager, staff and players. As everyone knows, we went on to achieve promotion in probably the most difficult season off the field in the club's history. Micky Adams at this point was considered to be one of the club's best ever managers.

So up to the Premiership we go. Now name me one single realist who expected us to go up to one of the best divisions in europe, with next to no money to spend and expect us to stay up in a division that is made of money? I certainly didn't. Lets not forget that Micky actually brought in a wealth of good players to give it a good shot, the likes of Bent, Ferdinand, Dabizas, no-one of which was complaining at the time about those signings. What other transfer tactic could Micky adopt than bring in as many players as possible and get rid of the bad ones? Risks had to be taken, some of those paid off, some did not.

We ended up what I believe giving it a damn good shot in that division. We had the potential to go down with the fewest points ever having gone up with no money. The teams who came up with us did have money to spend and spent it. Portsmouth successfully managed to stay up with the players they bought, Wolves spent about £8m more than us yet we matched them. Surely they should have been moaning more than us? But no, we apparently have a god given right to be better than them and the fact that they had spent about 10 times more than us bore no resemblence on the fact that our season was a disaster.

So down we go, again Micky has no choice but to change the squad around getting rid of players who are on too high wages or don't want to play nationwide football. So he brought in some excellent division one players, the likes of Gareth Williams, Dion Dublin and David Connolly could only inspire confidence and the Leicester fans were overall pretty damn pleased with them. However, a quarter of the season has passed and we have only shown glimpses about what we are capable of (Gillingham, Rotherham & Sheff Utd), but we are still in a fairly respectable position in the league when you put it into perspective with the likes of Wolves. Wolves who went down on the same points as us, but with a hell of a lot more money to spend this season. They are 20th, we are mid-table. Count your lucky stars you aren't a wolves fan.

Are we really in a crisis? I believe not. Get behind them and things will get better.

I see your point, but all that about Micky Adams is in the past. I accept that he did a wonderful job in Div 1 last time and all the players he brought in were necessary in the Premiership, but that doesn't mean he should still be here after this season's performances and results. And you're comparing us to Wolves - yes they got relegated last season with us, but we have to look at OURSELVES and our objectives. We were expected to be challenging for the top 2 (according to MA) - it doesn't matter what is happening to Wolves and Leeds.

Yes we have bought some decent players this season (esp Williams and Connolly, and Tiatto) - but MA has NOT got the best out of these players, and when that happens it's time for him to go. Add to that his persistence with experience when Dion and Nathan have been shite, as well as his one dimensional long ball tactic, and playing players out of position...enough is enough. Micky Out...

He has never solved the problem of late goals since he has been in charge. If you enjoy watching Leicester piss away leads in the last few minutes of every game...fair enough, Adams is the man

Can anyone honestly say they're happy with watching that rubbish week in week out? It really is dire. I've said on a number of occasions where the faults lie, but the most glaring two are that:

1) The team don't seem to have a clue what to do.

2) The apalling team selections and substitutions.

I will always be grateful for what Adams achieved 2 seasons ago. Administration wasn't easy, but he did have the players at his disposal.

However, saying that, who else is out there to replace him? Additionally, we can't afford to sack him, so he'll only go if he walks. Looks like we're stuck with him.

I would love to be proved wrong, but I don't see the situation improving. Adams will continually employ the wrong tactics, team selection and style of play. We're becoming stale....

It is very easy to pick out posatives, and Adams has done well for this club but lets be honest here.

My gran could of got that team promoted in 02/03 it was a premiership squad and we were a lot better than the competition. There was no need to get rid of players like Davidson, Freund, McKinally, Guppy as IMO these players would do a hell of a lot better than the likes of Blake, Wilcox, Dublin etc.

Last season I strongly believe that we had a capable side of staying up, which had a lot to do with some great buys from Micky, allthough I have to say there were more shit buys than good. But I think if it weren't for the stupid tactics and substitutions at games like Spurs and Boro away, Newcastle and Spurs at home plus many more then we could of stayed up.

I want to see players brought who have a future at this club Micky is only interested in players playing out their careers and have nothing for LCFC. It is his old age signings that force him to keep bringing in a completely new team every season. City is full of journey men lining their pockets who don't give a shit win lose or draw. Micky is denying players who want to play for this club lfor the likes of Blake and Wilcox who would struggle to make it in any other championship side.

He Is biased to his own signings and is to proud to listen to others opinions. Which has been highlighted in the Keown case. All Micky wants is Yes men, he is stubborn and arrogant and lacks motivation. How many other managers do you see walking crossed armed kicking a bottle and not saying anything in 1/2 time of extra time in a cup game? He just sits down all game crossed armed giving the impression he doesn't give a shit. He cant take blame and critisise fans for complaining.

He obviously doesn't know what its like to pay to watch football. When you pay 300 quid for a seaosn ticket plus money for away games, you have right to voice an opinion. Micky cant see this. And expects us to pay to watch shit that we do and not say anything. He likes to think he is gods greatest and cant stand players having a say.

No matter how you pick at finding posatives the truth is we were favourites to win this league and we have a team capable of it, but the manager is holding them back. He has his favourites and somehow manages to see different to us fans. Why he keeps chosing certain players over others when the fans have made it perfectly clear what they think is beyond me.

I'm bored of seeing hoof after hoof, I'm bored of hearing everything in 3rd person, I'm bored of his ignorance, I'm bored of wasting money on watching shit, I'm bored of looking over at the dug out and seeing him sitting down with his arms cross.

Unless we get someone new in we will go nowhere but league 1 with Micky Mouse incharge. I've had enough, it's no longer exciting watching Leicester and it's embarresing watching a new side every season, players with no future at the club. I want someone in charge who gives a shit and wants to do well. I want someone who cares about youngsters, who doesn't go and buy 15 players every summer because the rest of the squad have retiered.

Time for bye bye's Adams!!!

Sorry fot rambeling.

I was a big fan of adams but now after whats happened with losing late leads this season and the team not seem to know what to do i think whilst we have him as manager we wont get anywhere now, i mean even prem season we lost late leads loads like now and its more a less a whole different team!

The time has come for Micky to leave, whilst he should always be fondly remembered for what was achieved in the administration season, I am afraid there are a number of common problems that have blighted us during his reign.

1) Poor disciplinary record. On and off the pitch.

2) Consistently concede late goals and losing leads.

3) Public fall outs with high profile players.

4) Poor substitutions and tactic selection.

5) Favouritism towards certain players regardless of performances.

6) Failure to accept responsibility for poor results or performances.

Micky has failed to learn from any of these previous mistakes and continues to make them at regular intervals. We have gone stale and there is little sign of a long term plan. We need fresh impetus from someone who will introduce pride, passion and commitment from the team.
