Jordan Posted 12 February 2006 Posted 12 February 2006 The snow started at around 7 p.m. last night and it's still going... about two more hours of snowfall left. When all's said and done, snowfall totals in and around NYC will be around 18 inches. My town is pretty much shut down--most of the roads are closed (although the trains to the City seem to be running on time).

Jordan Posted 12 February 2006 Author Posted 12 February 2006 From what I hear, it's not terrible (can't say from first-hand experience because I'm a little north of the City and I've not left my house)--they've been clearing the streets, subway is running with delays and only a few lines are suspended. It seems like the City is doing a good job dealing with the storm--not so sure how many businesses, etc. closed today because the weather was brutal in the morning. I haven't heard of any power outages in the City yet. But with all of this snow, below-freezing temperatures and gusting winds that might even hit 50 mph this evening, it's not a good idea to be outside, anyway.

Jordan Posted 12 February 2006 Author Posted 12 February 2006 The snowman I built today might be a little bigger than the one in the first picture but theirs looks nicer. I took a photo of it but I don't have it on my computer yet.
