D4 Posted 15 February 2006 Posted 15 February 2006 an exchange of sausage stories. well done on the 21! u cudda sold em cold on ebay but thats the easy way out. and its cliche now. so before ya mates went out, u were originally gonna have 7 each!? - thats still bad. anyway, my sausage story goes as follows; last year me and 2 mates went to go camp the night on Croft Hill. just sleeping bags. we went to the supermarket first and bought an umbrella each, some sausages, and 6 bottles of wine. and we took a couple of hip-flasks and saucepan, tins of beans and pot noodles and bottles of water, and i made a big bottle of squash up too. anyway to the point - when it got dark, we started to cook sausages on the fire, well my 2 mates did, one of my mates made up some skewers out of some sticks but he only made 2, so i had to watch them cook their's before i cud even start to cook mine. My mouth was watering so i decided to cook mine somehow,.... i got the saucepan and filled it with water and threw a sausage in it. started boiling it. it wasnt going very well at all, starting prodding it, becuase u always think this will help. after a while i took it out the pan with a fork and went to taste it. O dear, it tasted like blackcurrant. Becuase it was so dark i cudnt see what i poured into the pan and i had used the bottle of squash. whoops. i ended up using a wooden skewer and cremated a sausage on the fire and ate it, it was lovely, if not, at least a recognisable sausage flavour.
