Scow Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 Morris played for the first half, he's probably injured now though.
Sparky Posted 20 July 2004 Author Posted 20 July 2004 tommy wright with a 30 yard volley , i think someebody on here will be chuffed
Mark Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 Well done Tommy. And Tommy Wright would make it 4-2 in the space of 10 minutes after the restart with a spectacular volley. The Leicester-born striker picked up the ball 30 yards from goal and unleashed an unstoppable shot past the helpless Martin. I wish we'd of given Dublin and Wright a go up front, now Connolly is here he aint going to get many chances. Need rid of Benjamin.
Sparky Posted 20 July 2004 Author Posted 20 July 2004 if tommy keeps progressing , he will get a chance
Guest Guest Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 wicked result, i'm geeitn a good feeling of the new seaon now, with the 2 signings today, only 1 or 2 more needed, then i will be confiddent of going up.
Guest Guest Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 I dunno about whoever put need rid of Benajamin but we need him more than ever with such a small squad. If Dion gets injured or needs resting Trev will have a large part to play this season. The last time we were in this division Trev was our top goalscorer over the last 10 games of the run in when Dean was injured. He isn't as bad as he first looked IMO & can do a good job for us in this league. Dunno why it won't let me sign in I registered the other week now it says I'm not known for some reason. Neil_LCFC
Mark Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 Had a few problems last weekend, you'll have to sign up again i'm afraid. Everythings working fine though now!
Neil_LCFC Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 Just re registered think it's ok now oh yeah & hi all I've been reading the board for the last few weeks but not got around to posting until now. Looks a good site & forum :-) oh & I'm not Trevors secret love child that's not why I'm defending him !! I've slated him in the past as much as the next man !

I agree that Benjamin will be a good squad player. But I would prefer Scowcroft and Wright ahead of him for the strikers role.
Neil_LCFC Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 Not sure about Scowie upfront he looked very bad when he was called upon in that position last season mind he looked quite good up there in div 1 last time round so maybe he could do it easily this time just shows the difference between Premier & div1 or whatever it's now called. Will Scowie still be here at the start of the season anyway with Palace & Norwich sniffing around anyway?

He didnt play tonight though so theres something for us to hold onto I prefer Benjamin up front than Scowcroft. Thats how highly i rate Scowcroft
Neil_LCFC Posted 20 July 2004 Posted 20 July 2004 Come to think of it you could tell our forwards did well last season as all 3 main strikers are still in the Prem Dickov at Blackburn,Les at Bolton & Bent at Everton.

andy_croydz Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 this was a great result when u read the match report like for instance ive been saying to people gillespie should play right wing this season and they've laughed at me, then i read this.. Leicester took the lead as early as the fourth minute of the contest. Keith Gillespie whipped in a fine free-kick from the right, and Dion Dublin was on hand to head home from close range. then this... Leicester drew the game level four minutes into the second period. Again it was Gillespie who fed the ball in, this time from a corner, and Dublin was there again to grab his second of the contest. and great goal by tommy i reckon he'll be used as sub next season and play a few games from start when players are rested B)
Scow Posted 21 July 2004 Posted 21 July 2004 I saw Wright's goal on TV last night - Great strike. He lifted the ball up from 30 yards, and struck a dipping volley over the keeper who had no chance. B)
