Scarby Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 from sky sports Wolves were one of the pre-season favourites for promotion from The Championship after relegation from The Premiership last term. However, they have struggled and won just four of their opening 15 games, collecting only 17 points in the process. Matters reached a head after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Gillingham - who played the majority of the game with just ten men - which sparked the club's board into action. Chairman Rick Hayward met Jones on Monday morning to inform him of the decision to terminate his contract. "It was our wish and intention to make a quick return to the Premiership but performances and results to date have left us off the pace by some margin," Hayward stated. "Therefore, we decided that action was needed in order to try and get the season back on track before it is too late." The former Southampton boss joined the Black Country outfit in January 2001 and led the club to The Premiership via the play-offs last season. Paul Ince is likely to be amongst the front-runners to replace Jones, although Gary Megson, Micky Adams and John Gregory are also likely to be in the shake-up for the Molineux hot-seat. Will Micky Adams have it..i dont think so.

I think Micky should apply, because in all honesty, he ain't going to get a job in the PRemiership (yet) - so the only way he is going to manage a Premiership club is by getting a Championship team promoted.
Guest Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 So you don't think Megson will be the fans choice?
King Kyle lcfc Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 i dont think so that will be like ferguson goin to manage man city or MON going to manage rangers. They'll get all the shit managers who applied for our job because there seen as a team about the same size How about Steve Bull and Walshy as a joint management team? No i bet Bull will be involved somewhere and Probably Graham Taylor as manager me thinks
Ash Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Im not surprised really , Wolves have had a shit season so far !
Guest Daniel Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 Good decision to sack him, shit season, shit manager, shit club. I think Peter Taylor should go there. Keeps all the twats together then.

Scow Posted 1 November 2004 Posted 1 November 2004 No real surprise. Although I suppose he has been unlucky with the huge injury list he's had to contend with. Saying that, they have lost too many games against mediocre opposition like Gillingham. I didn't think that both Leeds and Wolves would be down there struggling...... Blackwell next for the chop?
Bluefoxtim Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 I dont think so. Leeds need things to settle down first. To much has been happening.
bluefox Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 Hoddle to WBA Megson to Wolves MA to Soton all before the end of the season
Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 hhhm, maybe jones can spend more time with the kids now edit - sorry, that was misjudged

Guest Daniel Posted 2 November 2004 Posted 2 November 2004 , good one mate. Megson at Wolves, very interesting, what are the supporters going to think of that and what about if he has to return to W.B.A for a game? They'll murder him...
Scow Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 I can't really see Adams at Southampton, more chance of him going to Wolves. However, Wolves won't want to appoint a manager who got sacked for performing at a similar level in the same division....
Guest Daniel Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Unless somebody will be willing to give this 'young and upcoming' manager a fresh chance?
Ash Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Wolves fans want Bobby Robson as there next manager
Guest Daniel Posted 3 November 2004 Posted 3 November 2004 Thats alright then, they aint got a chance of going up with him. He cant even get his dick up anymore, let alone a football team.
