J Caragher 6 Average, nothing special though, crossing wasn't great J Terry 7 Looked solid and caused problems when attacking R Ferdiand 6 Didn't really do much, average A Cole 6 Average, again didn't do much D Beckham 6.5 Half his crosses were brilliant, half terrible, but we should have made more of his good ones S Gerrard 6 Not brilliant, only good shot he had was the one he scored F Lampard 6 Didnt do much, looked half decent though J Cole 7 Noting spectacualr but good coming forward M Owen 5 Never got in the game P Crouch 6 He scored but wasted many other great chances W Rooney 6 Looked posotive, will get better S Downing 6 Looked decent A Lennon 6.5 Good getting past people but poor crossing
Bert Posted 15 June 2006 Posted 15 June 2006 Robbo 6 - Had nothing to do, although looked dodgy on crosses. Carragher - 6 Hardly sene him all game. Cole - 7 Overlapped well, some neat touches. Terry - 8 Awesome. Rio - 7 Works well with Terry. Beckham - 7 good workrate, quality cross for Crouch. J Cole, 7 V skilful worked well with A Cole. Lampard - 6 Should've scored, kept running. Gerrard - 7 always looking to drive on, quality goal. Owen - 5 did very little. Crouch - 6, decent header for his goal, should've scored when he had a lot of time in 1st half. Rooney - 6 could tell he's not played, still scared them 5hitless. Lennon - 7 Changed the game with his direct running and trickery. Downing - 6 Did ok.

I thought it was a descent display which lacked goals. Not a poor performance. If we had finished our chances we would have won the game 4 or 5 and you would have rated them all as 8 or 9.

If we had finished our chances we would have won the game 4 or 5 and you would have rated them all as 8 or 9. Don't you count their chances...the "goal" that was cancelled for the sake of a yard, the goalbound shot which Terry perfromed heroics to safe and Stern John's so-close far post effort?. We won. I'm pleased. But apart from Lennon and Terry I didn't see too many sparkling performers out there although where strikers are concerned it doesn't matter so much how many they miss as how many they score and Crough's goal was vital. Furthermore it was he rather than Owen who kept getting in the positions to miss.

I'm not disregarding there chances but i think there chances in the first half came from Robinson being far to keen to try and come and collect crosses which he has no right to collect. Don't know why he's started doing that? And every team is going to have a couple of chances against you! Plus we dominated the game. We created lots of chances. Peter Crouch missing a fair few but he did put himself in the position to score along with Frank Lampard. We had lots of possesion, created chances. We just couldnt score. We left it late but the goals were coming for a long time. I think that it was an alright to good display. Job done. If the goals had come like they should have done. Most players would have got ratings of 8. In my opinion.
