Apparently this is the type of music/band you can hear at the Belgium Oktoberfeest beer festival. Thought it would make a change to going on a package tour to a Spanish Costa and hitting the bars every night. Went to one a few years back with a group from work. Good atmosphere. Wanted a german one but not seen one advertised in Leicester.

Your round I think.

Second time I done this post. I clicked on a link for a German Oktoberfeest and my Adwatch blocked the page and then I lost this site. Found the German link by googling but not checked if they go from Leicester.

Where in belgium - we go every other year, can't go this year though through other commitments.

Is it the one in Ostend?? We actually have only been to the festival only once, didn't enjoy it too much, and we preferred trawling the streets.

We were there for that goal against greece in qualifying!

Did you hire the 4 wheeled bike type things wi 4 seats?? Very good, but no brakes, so nearly died going down hill into a main road.

Really like the market they have.

Great value too - £120 for the weekend incl, travel -coach and ferry, entry to fest and B&B. 14 hours travelling is def worth it

Doesn't exactly say where (unless Diksmuide is the place) Just says you are taken to a hotel in Belgium.

I want to go via the Eurotunnel as I have never been through it. Every time I go on a coach trip it's the ferry.

The trips are from 29th Sep-27Oct. I just have to find out from work if the dates are OK. Only so many of us are allowed off at any time. This is awkward because if i give dates the holiday I want may be booked up.

leaves Leicester about four in the morning. Don't bother me as I'm used to working nights and sleeping anywhere. Only thing is I'll be going on my own which as usually put me off. But thinking about it there will be a coachful of people all going for the same thing and somebody should speak to me or even buy me a drink. :D

Think I'll book it. Got it for 13th OCT (EEK just realised the ferry crossing is on Friday 13th) thit's OK for work and the dates free for the tour. Just spoke to them on the phone. She said they use several hotels in that coastal area and picup from Leicester is about 8. I was a little worried about going on my own but she said they do have single people going..

Cost £109 plus £49 single supplement. How much are the drinks? Do I need to save a lot of pennies? :D

BTW whos City playing that weekend (13th/20th Oct)?

The drinks wern't too bad - bout £2 a pint if i recall, but was drinking their equivalent of lager, might be cheaper for their home brew.

One place I would go to if you can find it - sorry I forget where it is and what it is called but if you see it you'll know. It's a bar that does food, and the only food they do is roast chicken. You can see the chickens on a spit as you walk by. You get half a roast chicken and some freshly baked bread. Absolutely lovely and a great preparation for the night ahead!

The ladies of the night were about £30 or so someone told me.

Good man - you will defo enjoy yourself.

You're a brave man going on your own - I think if I ever plucked up the courage and did I would thoroughly enjoy it.

Going with others is nice, but you can never do what you want when you want at what pace you want.

Never really had a problem going on holiday on my own. As you say you can do your own thing. No spouse or children to consider. Wife window shopping and kids wandering off up to no good. You have to find a hotel that caters for kids and dogs (sorry I mean wife). No 5 star is needed just a bed to fall into at night. Great. On my own I do a lot more walking, look for the areas not frequented by tourists. That's also why I'm not keen on package holidays with guides. 'Come on gang follow me and we'll go to this restaurant that charges 3 times the price of the backstreet cafes.'

I was just thinking that as the trip was for a specified thing IE. boozing and getting ratarsed. it would suit a gang of young mouthy blokes. But the woman I spoke to said they have all sorts single, couples and groups. So I hope I get the right lot that's more suitable for me. Not too rowdy but out for a laugh without going OTT with drink and behavior. Don't want anyone throwing up in the seat behind me on the way back to the hotel. :D
