It's something silly like 33% of your wages. :(  Depending on income of course.  ;)

I did tax law at uni so the first £4600ish should be tax-free, up to £10,000 is taxed at 10%, between £10,000 and around £33,000 is 22%, and above £33,000 is 40%. All this excludes NAtional insurance contributions, which again depends on your income and is another kick in the teeth.
