Thracian Posted 25 September 2006 Share Posted 25 September 2006 At the start of the season we had Tiatto and Maybury on the wings, an out-of-form Stearman, Hume not getting in the game at all. He's changed all of that and if anything we look even worse. There is a point where you have to wonder whether we actually have enough good players to make a decent team. We wouldn't know cos he's never picked them all together in one team. But two things particularly concern me on top of his indefensible team selections and uninspired tactics. a) Players' lack of fitness or lack of willingness to show they are fit. b) The number of good or reasonably good players who have underperformed this season. It is another reason why I would like Kelly to go the whole hog and pick young players who have energy and commitment in every position instead of this halfway house we have at present. We have to start developing and imposing our own style of play and this is completely lacking right now. Even when the result is reasonable good there doesn't seem to be a style, an obvious understanding between the players as so obviously exists in the former Reserves and the Academy teams and which was so apparent in MON days and in Matt Gillies day. The players are there. No question. But we need to energy in every position not just seven or eight.
