CULofty Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 Colchester fan here. Attended match with my son on Saturday - granted not the finest example of the beautiful game, but just wanted to comment on the experience as a whole. You have a fine stadium and it was good to go to an away game and not feel intimidated or threatened. Your stewards and matchday staff could teach a lesson to many other clubs. I hope the gloom currently being projected on your boards is misplaced and your season improves from hereon in - return game aside of course. If the team performed as well as the off the field staff you'd be a sure thing for promotion. All the best.

As you might have gathered from my Learned Friends, out stewards aren't known for being fantastic. Glad you enjoyed yourself (I must admit, my lad feels safe when he comes along!) and thanks for your good wishes! All the best!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 I bet you wouldn't be so nice if we weren't so accommodating on the pitch as well as off it! Seriously glad you had a good day out.
CULofty Posted 25 September 2006 Author Posted 25 September 2006 Obviously I bow to those who have dealings with them regularly, but to be greeted as a travelling fan with smiles rather than scowls, to be wished all the best for the season and to not have some pocket Hitler telling you to sit down all the time when you're just trying to support your team is a bit of a rarity in my experience so I can only judge by experience.

I support Col U - a few weeks ago I reckoned if we went down without equalling the record low points it would be an achievement. To come away from leicester thinking we should have nicked all 3 points is a rather bizarre feeling

Daggers Posted 25 September 2006 Posted 25 September 2006 ...we are so nice, except when we are disagreeing with each other on FT
