Well the OS is singing the praises of the regular Sunday Market/boot sale which started at the Walkers Sunday and without doubt if the 6,000 attendance is to be believed, and there was a lot of customers so I do believe it, there was much to be pleased about.

The organisers were blessed with perfect weather but there were snags.

Biggest was having a meat auctioneer driving everyone barmy with his highly vocal patter. This went on non-stop for hours and every stallholder I spoke to was fed up about it. The guy may well have a permanent agreement in place so it sounds as if he's a fixture but many visitors joined the stallholders in expressing their annoyance.

How ridiculous if every stallholder gets a microphone and starts yelling the benefits on his/her wares but the main problem was the all enveloping sound and the fact that once started it just went on and on.

Several Market traders, as opposed to boot salers had a quiet day and were not happy at having to pay considerably more (£38 I was told against £8 for what amounted to the same amopunt of selling space as the car boot people - their extra being occupied by their larger vehicles.

Finally to say there was a large boot sale section was misleading. The boot sale turnout was disappointing and there was a grat deal of spare space - a large section of car park in fact.

And it wasn't many minutes into the day when one steward was throwing his weight around with a stallholder which may have been insignificant but in years of attending Croft car boot - which really does have a huge booters section - I've never heard one altercation.

Non of these points is meant to be especially critical, they were teething troubles at was an excellent first effort. Certainly the customers seemed to get involved and the benefit of hard-standing and decent nearby toilets will be a big benefit compared to other such sales in the area.

Great, love the deals you can get on the market

Some of them astound me. A guy found something at Stratford boot last week that is expected to fetch thousands.

For as long as I can remember, Wembley Stadium has hosted a sunday market, extremely succesfull , and 'part of the furniture ' down there in NW10 . Even to the extent that the market has continued on through the rebuilding of the whole area (as we all know is well behind schedule).

The revenue that can be generated for the club is quite considerable if this venture is succesfull , it will of course depend on the punters turning up and spending their hard earned spondooliks. I wish the venture well.

Yeah, if he'd been a comedian it might not have been so bad listening to him.
