Trumpet Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 When we can all do the lottery tonight and hopefully someone on here will claim all 20m and then buy the club
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I'm already looking up Trevor Benjamin in the phone book. Cos I don't have him on my speed dial, honest.
The People's Hero Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I'm already looking up Trevor Benjamin in the phone book. Cos I don't have him on my speed dial, honest. Good call mate. If I win the Jackpot, I'm bringing you in as manager. Would £20million buy you the club? Would you have much left over? Seriously - I don't know? How do you value a football club? Is the debt taken in to account? What assets do we actually have? Players (hahaha!) and training ground? I suppose the fact that you are guaranteed to sell a certain amount of shirts etc each year is worth something as potential income? Someone put me straight.

Some bloke said £5-6m the other day on here, so I'm going to take that as gospel and start saving. Got £3.70 so far. Anyone want to chip in? I'd be an awesome football manager. All you have to do is select the youngest, quickest players you have and tell them to attack constantly. Works every time.
The People's Hero Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I'd be a good football manager too. I'd slightly modify your plans. All youngsters apart from Trev, Ian Marshall and Tony Cottee in a three pronged attack. ps I have £2.45 to pledge to the cause on my person and I'm sure I could rustle up a tenner from when I go in to town in a bit.

As long as your plans involve Graham Fenton being on the bench, you can be my assistant. Okay so that's £6.15, possibly soon to become £16.15. Anyone got a spare £5,999,983.85 down the back of the sofa to contribute? You can be chief scout?
Trumpet Posted 14 October 2006 Author Posted 14 October 2006 If the board accept paypal payments i can chip in £0.26
Fez of Mahrez Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 If the board accept paypal payments i can chip in £0.26 £16.41. These are exciting times indeed.
lcfc_jme Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I'll chip in with the £4.37 I have in my back pocket and the £15 I have sitting upstairs on the side if you want it??
lcfc_jme Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I'm sure somebody could make a huge contribution and propell us a lot closer to our target really soon Keep those pledges coming
Cheese Me Posted 14 October 2006 Posted 14 October 2006 I reckon it'd cost a lot less than that to buy the club. he value would be based largely on the expected profits over the next ten years or so and with no parachute payments and no immediate prospects of promotion it wouldn't be much. I reckon you could realistically buy the club in it's present state for a couple of million if you were prepared to invest in the team. And with big Trev, Marshall and Cottee that's the kind of investment I'd like to see.
