bold_fox Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 Don't think Tiatto's got the legs to play whole... Also, i'd say that we need more pace down the wings. On the 3 class centre backs issues... its always better to have strength in depth, so i'd keep the formation how it is.
Surreal Madrid Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 When Stearman has been tried in a more forward position ( i.e. when he came on at WBA ) he has been woeful. Wing back he ain't.
Thracian Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 Two potential goalscorers - no-one else scores more than occasionally. Nowhere near attacking enough. Playing three centre-backs just because it's a shame to drop one is no way to ensure a sustained attacking policy. Tiatto as wing back would soon get exposed because while our centre-backs are super, they are not quick and they are not alternative full-backs.

Just a question of whether our midfield would seize hold of the game and make them attacking wing-backs instead of full-backs like happened with England. I still think 3-5-2 would suit us but it has to be played extremely well.
Thracian Posted 18 October 2006 Posted 18 October 2006 Stick with 4-4-2 i think I'd be amazed if he changed. He's had plenty of chances to tinker with the system when things have been a bit grim so I doubt if he'd change now we're showing a bit of form.
