I remember when Heskey was playing for us, we went to a training session at Filbert Street, because we got to the training ground and MON told us it was at the ground, and to come along, he'll let us in. So we went along, and one of the players sons was sitting behind us, (can't remember which one), and he was saying something along the lines of "God Heskey's got the speed of a carthorse". I couldn't help but agree.

I don't like him for the way he left, but that doesn't affect my judgement of him as a player. He is no where near as good as Heskey, I think that's obvious to the majority of people who follow football. You ask any Leicester fan who they would prefer, and it would be Heskey every time, apart from a few notable exceptions. I think some people forget how influential Heskey was for us.

Sparky Posted 21 December 2004 Posted 21 December 2004 i can see mm point , the way he treated us after we stood by him after the la manga incident was nothing short of discusting. but back to the point about their ability .. both are undoubtably premiership quality but heskey for me is way ahead of dickov as a complete package but there is 1 similarity they are both on the arses more times than on their feet

Duckov is and was a good player but not in the same league of Heskey, who was a better player for us than he is now. \i rember when he broke into the international team and gave Ayala a run around on his debut. He also outclassed Maldini in the Peter Taylor (spits) international. People have very selective memories.

Anish Posted 21 December 2004 Posted 21 December 2004 Heskey is a better player imo, and did more for us than Dickov that's for sure. Heskey played a major part during our 'glory' years under MON and although his effort was questionable at times, he was always a handful to opposing defences and yes, he was pacey.
