Ever since the site had a little 'episode' a few nights back, the view stats have either been disabled or have 'crashed' so to speak.

The database - for whatever reason - is not recording the number of times a topic is opened. As I said - perhaps the admins have turned this feature off to save resources (possible, since I'm sure it was an overloading issue that led to the site to crash a couple of days ago) or the crash itself has messed something up in the database.

That's my in-expert analysis of the situation, with absolutely no insight from anyone else at all.

We've not turned it off, just set the view counts to update every couple of hours instead of every single click.

I had no idea you could set it so - I assumed it was a simple "On/Off" choice.
