Scow Posted 30 December 2004 Posted 30 December 2004 Craig Levein says he will have Martin Keown available once again for the Championship clash against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.Levein rested the former Arsenal man for the Sheffield United game after the 38-year-old defender had completed 90 minutes of action in the home defeat to Rotherham. City go into the game looking to get back to winning ways after two disappointing results so far during the Christmas period. Meanwhile, the Clarets will be riding high after posting a 1-0 victory over high-flyers Wigan Athletic last weekend. Robbie Blake missed that encounter as speculation continues to link the striker with a move to the Premiership. And Levein, who will be without Keith Gillespie after the winger got sent off against the Blades, says that the Foxes face a tough battle if they are going to come away from Lancashire with three points on New Year's Day. He said: "It is another hard away fixture. One thing we will need to do in the game is to keep 11 players on the pitch. "Burnley left out Robbie Blake against Wigan and it showed that they can get a result without him. "We will probably change it around again. Martin Keown is at the age where it would have been impossible for him to play two games in such a short period of time. But he has had a rest and he is back in contention, as is Nikos Dabizas. "So we can shuffle the pack a little bit, and as long as we get the same sort of determination as we had against Sheffield United then I will be quite happy." Link The changes will probably mean Keown and Dabizas at the back, with maybe someone like Williams coming in for the suspended Gillespie. So pretty much enforced really.

I think it's a game too late for Dabizas I thought he should have played against Sheff, Heath was shit from the 'high'lights I've seen of the game, so he should feature!

Link I won't! What if we lose yet again in the same fasion as against Sheff Utd - is that acceptable? Not in my opinion it isn't. It seems from that quote that it's alright if we lose but put in a bit of effort whilst doing so.

I'd settle for 100% commitment, passion and some semblance of skill.

I can see where you're coming from Davieg, but I don't like to hear negative comments like 'as long as we show some commitment I will be happy' - the players are paid to be committed EVERY game, not just when they feel like, or the odd occasion here and there. Besides, football is a results industry - you don't get points for effort (although even if you did, we still wouldn't be any higher).
