Luton v Leicester FA Cup 5th Round 1974

Recommended Posts

For any of you younger fans out there, this is an example of the type of footie we played under Jimmy Bloomfield - sorry if it's been on here before. I've seen the Weller goal previously but not the 9½ minutes of highlights in this clip.

Check out;

a. The wing play

b. The runs and support from midfield

c. The runs and support from left and right back

d. Wortho's cheeky flick out of the keeper's hands

e. The Birch doing keepy-uppy during the match in front of the City fans

f. Ex-player Rodney Fern up front for Luton

g. Keith Weller's brilliant goal

Happy times! Can't imagine anything like that from us at the moment.

Thanks IOW that brought back some very fond memories. The thing I remember about that team was that Weller was consistently great as was Glover, Birch and Wortho were less so and Jon Sammels could have some awful games. There were four England players in that team, fat chance now eh?
