MON Posted 4 January 2005 Posted 4 January 2005 These were mickys last 6 games. After the slump against Millwall, Watford and Brighton: Sat 11 15:00 A RotherhamFLC W 2-0 6,272 Tue 14 19:45 H Sheffield Utd FLC W 3-2 23,422 Sat 18 15:00 H Burnley FLC D 0-0 22,495 Sat 25 15:00 A QPR FLC L 2-3 15,535 Tue 28 19:45 A Gillingham FLC W 2-0 6,800 October Sat 2 15:00 H Preston FLC D 1-1 21,249 That was 11 points out of a possible of 18. Almost 2 points a game. The turnaround was well on the way. It would of been 14 out of 18, if it wasnt for Connoly. I was confident Micky would of taken us back-up. The style might not have been all attractive, but it was effective. He knew how to get us results. We should of given him until December. We were on a roll, believe it or not. But some fans, most fans, began to boo him after Preston got a fluky draw. "You dont know what your doing" Pathetic. The fans sand the same against rotheram, sums those leicester fans up. If we had got behind the team maybe we would have made those draws at home into winds. Remember we were creating alot of chances then, but we kept on missing. A lot of the players had not had pre-season, they still had to get in to full fitness. I admired Micky because he said "Dont talk to me about top6, talk to me about top 2" It showed he had the ambition. Micky adams was a very good manager and man, us fans let him down. And the players for their ill-discipline.

MON Posted 4 January 2005 Author Posted 4 January 2005 haha what a comical thread!!! :w00t: 51872[/snapback] what do you find funny about it. We should of kept the faith with micky.
Anish Posted 4 January 2005 Posted 4 January 2005 Micky had lost the plot - I can't believe you are actually agreeing with Chandler on this. The points average for his last 6 games was good, but what about the previous 6, and the style of football etc etc. This is history and you've got to move on .
Cobbo Posted 4 January 2005 Posted 4 January 2005 Did you actually watch those games? We may have won a few, but we were #### dire. It was so obvious that something needed to be changed. People dropped. Etc. Micky never did that, would never change anything and we were utter shite! Remember the cracking tactical decision vs QPR? 2-0 up, Connolly got himself sent off, we just have Blake up there on his own to hold it up....oh wait, send Dion who had been solid at the back with Dabizas and Keown upfront where he has been crap. What was the final score?
Scow Posted 5 January 2005 Posted 5 January 2005 I think some people have very short memories. We were not well on our way to recovery by any means. We were still shite at home, didn't look like scoring, simply because the players we had lacked any pace, energy or ideas to break teams down. We often looked clueless and ragged when 'Plan A' didn't work. Adams was inflexible in his tactical approach, always sticking to a 4-4-2, irrespective of what players we had available. Levein is still having the same problems, but at least he recognises this and has duly changed the formation that suits the players he has at his disposal. Playing Heath at right back for one game was beyond shocking. To play a crap, clumsy centreback at right back was asking for trouble. Then we had Adams' idea that playing Nalis and Williams in central midfield was the right combination, when clearly we looked powderpuff as neither had any ball winning qualities. We got outmuscled out of games far too easily. And as Cobbo has already pointed out, the Dublin situation at QPR emphasied how Adams was losing the plot.
Chandler Posted 5 January 2005 Posted 5 January 2005 The problem was the red cards you jerks. No argument. Ever tried playing with 10 men for 80 minutes in 40C? You tossers moaned because you couldn't get your lagers and you were sitting in the shade! And if we were crap then what are we now eh? Hey, we were supposed to be going for automatic promotion after the Leeds game! Oh yes my boneheaded friends, we are heading for something automatic alright but it aint promotion...

You tossers moaned because you couldn't get your lagers and you were sitting in the shade! The West Ham game was a 0-0 draw, it was probably the best performance from an Adams side all season, because his tactics were shot so early. And if we were crap then what are we now eh? Hey, we were supposed to be going for automatic promotion after the Leeds game! How does one fashion a classy suit from tatty rags? Oh yes my boneheaded friends, we are heading for something automatic alright but it aint promotion... Chandler's got his crystal ball out again, I see.....
