TEXAS HOLD EM POKER PLAYERS - PLEASE READ!

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Does anyone within this forum play Texas Hold Em???!! Its seems to be everywhere these days and I am one of the goons who gambles playing it with a few firms online.

They have regular "special" comps online and I could contact one of the firms and ask them to run a one off competition for us. It could be a small entry fee game with maybe the money going towards a Leicester charity or at least a percentage of it??

I know we have gamblers in here, lets hope some play poker too!!! If interested, let me know on here and if enough people are interested i`ll crack off an email to one of the firms and get them to set something up in the next few weeks.

If you have any questions, ask away!

2. Is gambling making your home life unhappy?

3. Is gambling affecting your reputation?

4. Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?

5. Do you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or to otherwise solve financial difficulties?

6. Does gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?

7. After losing, do you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses.

8. After a win do you have a strong urge to return and win more?

9. Do you often gamble until your last pound is gone?

10. Do you ever borrow to finance your gambling?

11. Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?

12. Are you reluctant to use gambling money for normal expenditures?

13. Does gambling make you careless of the welfare of your family?

14. Do you gamble longer than you planned?

15. Do you ever gamble to escape worry or trouble?

16. Have you ever committed, or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling?

17. Does gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?

18. Do arguments, disappointments, or frustrations create an urge within you to gamble?

19. Do you have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours gambling?

It doesn't tell you where to claim your T-shirt if you can check all 20 though

If played right Texas Holdem is not gambling because you can play so the odds favour you. In casino games like roulette blackjack the house is favoured, in poker you play against other players so all have an equal chance. The idea is not to place any bets where you will lose more times than you win. So if you have 22 UTG there are nine players to act after you. the chance of 22 winning by the river are pretty slim. Although my AA has been cracked by some fish before now holding these cards and getting a 2 on the river. Extreme example but there are many hands poor players think are good but in the short term they may get lucky but in the long run they will lose.

Don't ask me for advice though :dunno: I asm still learning and make mistakes which cost me money.

I forgot about the topic. It depends when the games are played. Not played much no-limit or tounament though.

:dunno:

I play poker on the 360 a helluva lot ~ I love it and it doesn't cost me a fortune. I'm not good with real money - we're like two North poles of a magnet.

Thats because with playmoney most players are maniacs. You cant take that style of play over into real money. Your money would last longer if you threw it off a high rise block of flats. and it'll be more fun watching the chavs chase it :D

I've seen players come to the table with $10 bet and raise every hand then curse their luck when they run out of money after 3 hands. :D
