dandannieldanok Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 I didn't go to today's game but from listening to the radio and reading the ratings it seems the players had great desire to produce some good football. If the players went into each game with this attitude, especially at the Walkers, we would be in the promotion picture. We should be throwing everything at the opposition week in week out. The players are not all to blame, the management should be abke to motivate for Championship games not just FA Cup games. My new year's wish is that the players would have the same application from today's game in the league.

I understand and to some extent agree with what your saying but that is why the F.A cup is waht it is as the underdogs try harder to gain the advantage. I'm guessing Swansea and F*rest fans are also saying this but it is just how competition is. If LCFC played Kettering then Kettering would proberbly try harded to beat LCFC than Hinkley for example

Obviously this game did not take much to get motivated for as some of them are maybe looking to get a move to the prem. I think they find it hard to motivate themselves for a regular championship match.
DB11 Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 I doubt Forest fans would cos they're top But yah I wish LCFC players would be motivated week in week out
lcfc_jme Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 Hmmm this seems to be a feature of our Cup games against Premiership opposition - the same happened at Villa. I really can't see us going into the league games with the same passion/desire/hunger/attitude as we approach games against Premiership teams. The management may take some blame for this, and rightly so, but the players are also very much at fault. It shouldn't take them to be the major underdogs to get them performing. They should perform properly and to the best of their ability anyway. After all, it's what they get paid to do.
Floating Fox Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 We do seem to have motivationla issues going into league games
DB11 Posted 6 January 2007 Posted 6 January 2007 Also, they weren't very motivated against Premiership teams when they were in the Prem were they??
