Anyone know how a 16 year old can personally get hold of a phone contract? I have a visa card and i earn enough per month to cover all costs, looking at £35 a month.

Note - cannot get parents to buy one, i still owe them for a computer i got them to buy in 2004, little did i know i was going to get the sack at the paper shop :dunno:

Thanks

you cant have a credit card at the age of 16

if your going to get a contract you need your parents to get you one if your under 18, due to the mobile phone company needing to get riasurances that you'll pay your bill

I have a direct debit card - i can purchase and buy off the internet and in theory i certainly can use my card for finance, if age restrictions were not in place. Carphonewarehouse can "debit" my account £35 per month.

Anyway, i just rang carphonewarehouse to track an order which was waiting for a credit check - and with no previous credit i didnt think id get it, but the nice lady said the credit check was succesful and itll be picked up tonight and should be with me tommorow - suckers :P

If you still owe your parents money for something you got them to buy you 2 1/2 years ago, no way should you be allowed to be have a phone contract (or a credit card)!!! :P

You need to do it in your parents name, yeah. Can't you set the phone account up on one of their cards and arrange a monthly direct debit payment of £35 from your account into theirs?
