Maybury - 7 - solid game

Stewart - 6 - worked hard if not particularly successfully

Dabizas - 4 - once again awful, no positional sense and lost attackers constantly

Keown - 6 - did well trying to look after Dabizas feck ups

Dublin - 6 - as above

Gudjonsson - 4 - dreadful again, did nothing - at all

Nalis - 5 - really not at the game today

Williams - 7 - did well with limited outlets for his passes

Taylor 7- kicking has improved, he's actually getting it further when he's kicking on the ground.

Keown 7 - Decent performance, matched agyemang for pace.

Dabizas 5 - average, gavce away some silly free kicks and needs to look up when passing.

Dublin 7- Won everything in the air, distribution let him down at times.

Maybury 7- Impressive player, could be the answer to our right sided problem, got forward well and covered his back too.

Nalis 4 - off the pace, very slow, needs to be rested.

Williams 6 - good in spells but never got forward to threaten much.

Gudjonsson 5 - good work rate, poor passing again.

Stewart 5 - did well defensively, going forward was poor, wasted good chance to cross by shooting.

Scowcroft 5 - Good on the deck, won little in the air.

Connolly 8* - worked hard, scored a superb goal had little support all afternoon but kept the ball well.

Taylor 6 – Generally solid on crosses/corners again. Cannot kick very well when under pressure, which put us on the back foot on a number of occasions. No chance with the free kick.

Maybury 6 – An energetic performance down the right, looked promising going forward on occasions as he managed to put a few good crosses in, although they were rather clipped than whipped in. But I presume he was looking for a Scowcroft knock down for one of the midfielders or Connolly to latch on to.

Keown 6 – Cresswell had the better of him early on and made him look a bit edgy. Recovered well and made some timely interceptions. Distribution was a bit iffy again.

Dublin 6 – Solid again, won most headers at the back and like Keown, made some timely interceptions.

Dabizas 4 – When will he ever learn not to ‘chest’ the striker blatantly in the back? Gave away too many free kicks, and his distribution and positional sense was very dodgy.

Stewart 5 – Stuck to his task at wing back, and defended ok, but caught out on a few occasions after a few half hearted challenges. Fairly poor going forward and his crossing was a bit shite.

Gudjonsson 5 – Plenty of energy, but not enough presence or composure to dominate the midfield. Very hit and miss, played some nice passes, but equally played some woeful one’s. He was a bit too slow in closing down the opposition too.

Nalis 4 – Just like the last 5 or so games, off the pace, ineffective and over run.

Williams 7 – Inventive first half as he showed some nice touches on the ball and supported the front two well. Neat link up play with Connolly, but unfortunately nothing incisive materialised between them. Looks promising if Williams is given more games in that advanced midfield position in a 3-5-2, he looks a threat going forward.

Connolly 7 – A well taken goal, a looping volley over Lonergan from just outside the area. His approach play was good again, and caused the Preston back 4 some problems with his movement down the channels.

Scowcroft 3 – Ineffective again on the whole. Won virtually nothing in the air and committed too many fouls, although some of those were debateable. Hold up play was ok at times, but he’s not really contributing anything.

I sincerely hope that "chesting him in the back" is all that our Greek <_< defender is doing.

I really don't understand why he does it. I'm surprised Levein hasn't addressed this problem. Maybe he has, but Dabizas just can't help himself...
