Leicester City PLC 2 April 2002 2 April 2002 Leicester City Plc ('the Company') New Stadium Naming Rights The Company is delighted to announce the sale of its new stadium naming rights to Walkers Snacks Limited over an initial ten year period for an up front sum of £1.5 million. The new Leicester City stadium at Freemen's Wharf, Leicester, which is on schedule for completion prior to the 2002/03 season, will be known as The Walkers Bowl. As part of the agreement, Walkers will continue the sponsorship of the Club's Youth Academy and junior membership scheme. Steve Kind, the Company's Chief Executive, said: 'This is excellent news for Leicester City. Walkers are a national brand with a local focus through their manufacturing plant in Leicestershire. I am personally delighted that we are building on our long and productive association with Walkers.' Martin Glenn, Chief Executive of Walkers Snacks Limited, said: 'We hope that this gives our employees as well as the local community in general a real sense of pride and represents a real long-term commitment to the Club by Walkers.' And what a rip off it was, yes they had us over a barrel with admin looming but £1.5 for 10 years. AL offered more but phased in over the ten years.
