MC Prussian Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 Ipswich cautious on buy-out talk Ipswich are refusing to deny reports that the Championship club are set to hold talks with a mystery consortium about a possible buy-out. BBC Radio Suffolk reports that such a plan would involve the transfer of more than £30m of debt from Town's books. In a statement, Ipswich said: "We are in constant dialogue with our lenders. "We have commented many times on record that we are continuing to explore possible solutions to the ongoing debt burden and this remains the case." I never thought other clubs were in more troubles than we did.
Joe. Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 How can clubs still afford to stay afloat and pay wages etc if they're in so much debt?
MC Prussian Posted 22 February 2007 Author Posted 22 February 2007 How can clubs still afford to stay afloat and pay wages etc if they're in so much debt? I rather ask myself why it is that we were so close to Administration, yet there are numerous other clubs in deep financial troubles that sway and stay alive unharmed by the league. No news, no punishments, no restrictions... Fair play and fair treatment, eh? Up my arse.
Brainy Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 What the **** is with all the takeover's lately?

Well Ipswich went into Admin, but ensured, after our mess up that they had everything sorted and were only in it for a couple of hours. This after Sheepshank called us cheats.
davieG Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 How can clubs still afford to stay afloat and pay wages etc if they're in so much debt? Puts our situation into perspective and shows that pleading poverty is no excuse for poor performances.
lookwhaticando Posted 22 February 2007 Posted 22 February 2007 Excuse my ignorance... but didn't we get pushed in by Wise and his cronies? Weren't we walking a tight-rope, but just keeping our balance until he polled up? Coventry and Ipswich obviously don't have a poison dwarf to contend with.
Wils Posted 23 February 2007 Posted 23 February 2007 My boss was telling me about this earlier. I hope it all falls through and they get relegated and then fall in even more debt, that would be great.
