Palace had to sell him, he had already told them that he was leaving in the summer on a Bosman anyway - and they didn't want to take the risk of a tribunal deciding his fee/compensation. Routledge seems like an arrogant, greedy little git with the way he's behaving towards Palace...after everything they have done for him since he was a kid.

But will he really be furthering his career sitting on the subs bench at a bigger club e.g Spurs? He's been brought up through Palace's youth academy and has been starting every game for a long time now. I doubt that'll be the case at a bigger club.

The 3-0 win over Spurs shows they are a good enough for the Premiership, with a top class manager. If only they had someone decent to partner Johnson then they'd be a mid table side.
