Joe. Posted 27 February 2007 Posted 27 February 2007 The same Martin Palermo who once missed 3 penalties in one game?!
lildave3 Posted 27 February 2007 Author Posted 27 February 2007 The same Martin Palermo who once missed 3 penalties in one game?! That's the one, who'd have thought a player would be better from 50 yards than 12
Geo V Posted 28 February 2007 Posted 28 February 2007 What a goal from Martin Palermo: I saw that on SSN today. Palermo was meant to be the next big thing after going to Spain but failed big time. He has had a serious injury also which didnt help as he is slow at best ! BTW, what a waste to see Juan Román Riquelme back at Boca. This bloke is world class and I would have loves to see him kick it in England. At 28 I was shocked to see that Villareal would loan him out and even more surprised to see him go back to Argentina.

Think he had a massive falling out with the management & hadn't played for a while so rather than let him go to another La Liga club they sent him as far away as possible!
Flynny Posted 28 February 2007 Posted 28 February 2007 Pretty good. Not a patch on Joey's though. Hmm... the other guys was from an angle and slightly further behind the halfway line, though that doesn't necessarily mean it was from further. Joey's was much flatter and I don't think the keeper was as far out. Difficult to call.
lcfc_jme Posted 28 February 2007 Posted 28 February 2007 I'm biased. Joey's was better. He did it for us at home. He wins it. This guys was good though!

Some of the Spanish clubs are guilty of some weird decisions, especially when loaning out players. Real Madrid have loaned out Carlos Diogo who looks like one of the better rightbacks in Spain to play Ramos who hasnt looked all that (although they paid crazy money on him). Saviola gets loaned out but always scores goals and has done his bit this season when given a chance but still gets dropped and Riqulme has been one of the best playmaking midfielders in the world for years IMO but always gets loaned out. Will his value rise by selling him as a 29 or 30yo compared to a 26yo???!! Crazy stuff...
