Scow Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 Says he is committed to getting us back in the Premiership. Going from winning Euro 2004 (albeit not playing) to playing in the Championship - Will he be motivated to play in this Division? I have my doubts...
Hullfox Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 Being in the shop window might just motivate him enough
Scow Posted 28 July 2004 Author Posted 28 July 2004 Being in the shop window might just motivate him enough The Championship is not much of a shop window.
Guest Jacob Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 I don't think we should doubt him. He clearly had other offers, but stayed with us. It's not like we've made him stay, so I see no reason why he wouldn't be motivated. I think it will be an entertaining season for him, I also think he'll have a good season for us.
Oli Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 I think he will be motivated because he wont want to be known to have a nad season after winning a major international competition will he?
TrickyTrev Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 I doubt he had bettter financial offers so he stayed here. Does not make him bad does it, just how business works. Will be more than capable in this division.
Ricey Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 I think he will be very motivated, last season he looked very determined and I think the same will apply this season. I think he'll be a big asset for us in the coming campaign.
Hullfox Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 Being in the shop window might just motivate him enough The Championship is not much of a shop window. Not as such but he's looking to get a longer contract back home I heard. The championship could be just the place, just like a designer outlet selling good quality, slight seconds at knockdown prices. Or is that an analogy too far?
Guest Daniel Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 Yeah, he was one player i really hoped we kept, he did show alot of great signs and is a quality defender for the standard of football we'll be playing, i think having walker in goal and keown and dabizas infront, it will take some good teams to get through!

Ricey Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 He sounds up for it and commited which is good to hear. Aslong as he is focussed I'm sure he'll show us this season that he is more than capable at this level.
aussie-fox Posted 28 July 2004 Posted 28 July 2004 i think nikos could be like gillespie this year and have a good season.
