Rincewind Posted 24 March 2007 Posted 24 March 2007 My intentions tonight were to leave off work at 6pm, go into the first pub on Queens Road (Olives) that I come to watch England thrash Iserael, have a steady pint for each half, go home reasonably sober and prepared for my 4.15 alarm call. Didn't quite turn out that way. Olives only had teresteral TV which I found out just as the barmaid was pulling my pint and somebody came in and asked about the England game. I downed the pint in about four goes and proceeded to the next bar. Here after sitting down taking my top coat off I found out that the bar only had foreign channels on the TV. The menu when a member of the bar staff tried with the remote control was showing Arabic or something similar. Two pints down in 25 minutes. The next bar (Dos Hermanos) had the game on big screen but it was packed. Two pints and a disappointing 0-0 draw I left to moan to any sympapethtic ear. At least I'm home in time for the QOS out-takes. Then it's bed and hope I'm OK for getting up at 4.15 and 12 hours at work. Theres not even a quiz today which I was in the mood for getting 10/10.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 25 March 2007 Posted 25 March 2007 We had to go in SEVEN pubs around the backstreets at the top of Tottenham Court Road before we found one that was showing the football. One pub was even closed for the early evening due to the England game on the advice of the Metropolitan Police!!! Bloody London, worrajoke.
