Leonisco Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 For those who don't know who Tim Vine is, he's a stand-up comedian whose act basically consists of loads of one-liners involving puns and word play. I think he used to be on The Sketch Show aswell. If you've never seen him, watch this, this and this before voting. I just can't decide whether I like him, most of his puns are really corny but every now and again he comes out with a classic, such as the "all tennis players are witches" joke, that one nearly had me in tears.
stez Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 i like him and his droll ways, he knows he's droll and plays on it. i first saw him on whittle years ago, when channel 5 first started. and he was great on the sketch show
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I rang up BT and said "I want to report a nuisance phone call" He said "Not you again" Haha! The Tescos one right at the end is good too. I remember when this bloke hosted some crap Channel 5 gameshow about 8 or 9 years ago.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I didn't realise it was called Whittle. To be honest I think I must have only watched it once or twice. I used to love 100% though. I think this is the best pun ever!; I went to the butchers the other day and I bet him fifty quid that he couldn't reach the meat off the top shelf. And he said, "no, the steaks are too high".

Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 100% was fantastic, did you watch it when there was a fella on for something like 10 weeks, a marine accountant i believe I don't know. It was ten years ago.
stez Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I don't know. It was ten years ago. i was 23 at the time, at it seems like yesterday. someone told me once that every ten years seems to go 5 years quicker, and it's true!!
timothy_s_vine Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I was reading this book, 'The History of Glue'. I couldn't put it down.
Flynny Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 After getting his DVD in the post today and watching it twice already I'm possibly his biggest fan. They're not supposed to be brilliant puns, but it's just the speed they come at you, mostly. He's also pretty great at antihumour when he wants to be without overrelying on it. Of course if you were being cruel you'd say his whole act was antihumour. But no, the guy's brilliant. Beats Peter Kay at any rate.
timothy_s_vine Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I got a job as the Duke of Edinburgh's hairdresser. The other day I parked outside Buckingham Palace and a policeman came up to me and said "have you got a permit?" And I said, "no, I've just got to take a bit off the back".
Joe. Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 But no, the guy's brilliant. Beats Peter Kay at any rate. He's not a patch on Peter Kay. Now there's a funny comedian
Flynny Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 He's not a patch on Peter Kay. Now there's a funny comedian Yeah hilarious. Cos it's like, just like what people actually do! Garlic bread! God what a legend.
timothy_s_vine Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 He's not a patch on Peter Kay. Now there's a funny comedian Peter Kay will be stuck when he's told us ALL about his childhood
Leicfox Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Who's the funny kid with the account Arnold from Different Strokes.
stez Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Arnold from Different Strokes. this is true, he banks with natwest, whereas one of the lads off of tim allens' home improvement banks with the scarborough
lcfc_jme Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I'm not voting. Don't know him. Can't be that funny. Who is he exactly?
