Scow Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Man Yoo 0-1 Chelsea I want Chelsea to win the competition. As I said in another thread, they've taken the Carling Cup seriously...
BartonFox Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 For about the only time in my life I can remember I want United to win. Having lived in South West London for many years I can assure that Chelsea fans are much more odious than the plastic Mancs. Chelsea fans can be put into 3 distinct catagories. 1 - Proper fan was there when they got 6,000 in the old Second Division in the early 90's. He's a bit of a lad and you probably wouldn't want to mess with him. 2 - Chel-Chav, the grade A clown from SW London, the Home Countiesm Surrey or Hampshire who suddenly became interested in Chelsea when Matthew Harding splashed the cash on Vialli and Gullit. The see their 'support' as a god given right ot think they are infact hard as nails and "Leicester"........ They don't even know why they sign that part of the song. 3 - All the new age football fans who haven't got a scooby-doo about football but as Dickie Attenbrough goes to the Bridge it must be swanky. All 3 of those groups are the lowest of the low in football supporters. C'mon you Manc b'stds <_<

That doesn't mean I don't respect them I just don't fully respect them B)
Bedford Fox Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Maybe itz coz im young but why do they sing our name in their song? its been bugging me for a while now.
Oli Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 Maybe itz coz im young but why do they sing our name in their song? its been bugging me for a while now. 59409[/snapback] Because when they were on the train to leicester. They were singing the traditional version and after one line, a bloke shouted and Leicester. And it has just carried on. Thats what I heard anyway.
Wellman Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 I thought it's because when u drive on road, it always says The North and Leicester. That's what i got told mate

Oli Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 "I think the "AND LEICESTER" was added in October 1981 on the way to Leicester. It was sung on the train and someone shouted out "AND LEICESTER", and everyone laughed. It spread from train to platform to ground, and stayed with us. I could be wrong, but I know it was the first time I had heard this addition. I am positive that (AND LEICESTER) was never heard in the shed prior to 1982." Thats what I found on the chelsea chants website.
