Matt Posted 26 January 2005 Posted 26 January 2005 City take precautions Coventry City have assured Micky Adams that there will be no repeat of the La Manga incident when the club travel to Ibiza for a tournament on July 9th. Adams was told of the tournament at his interview and that the club are to fulfil their obligations to play in this tournament along with Queens Park Rangers and an as yet unnamed side which was agreed by Peter Reid. Graham Hover told the CET: "The trip was mentioned at Micky's interview and it is something that he has accepted. "I don't think he is overly concerned. "This is a pre-season training camp for the players to get together to train and play games rather than socialise and I don't think there will be a lot of time for socialising. "We have been assured that it is a well organised tournament with good security in place and they will provide minders for the players. "We have got to make sure the players act responsibly and it is up to Micky to supervise them."
Birdy Posted 27 January 2005 Posted 27 January 2005 MICKY ADAMS will employ minders to look after his players when he takes Coventry on a pre-season tour to Ibiza. Adams was manager of Leicester when they made their infamous trip to La Manga last summer. The trip ended with three Foxes players facing sexual assault charges. All three were later cleared by Spanish authorities but Adams, who quit Leicester in November, is taking no chances. Coventry chief executive Graham Hover said: “We have to make sure the players act responsibly and it is up to Micky to supervise them.”
