Bluefoxtim Posted 12 April 2007 Posted 12 April 2007 Just got a HDtv with this input available so just wondering how much better these are than SCART cables? (if at all)

(if at all) I don't know first-hand, but the evidence suggestes: Component>>>>SCART>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Composite. If you're talking video gaming you should only have Component if you have a HD plasma/LCD tv!!

Bluefoxtim Posted 12 April 2007 Author Posted 12 April 2007 This is b*llocks Just found out that my TV has Y /Pb /Pr component inputs. Conveniently you need Y Cb/Pb Cr/Pr component cables for any media to work. My component inputs are only for pc monitors I think. To top it off I only have one HDMI socket. I mean what a load of SHIT. Both are called COMPONENT INPUTS, The input is identical, all that is different are 2 letters. Now I'm not stupid, but who the feck came up with the idea to use the same colour cables, and give it the same name, but allow totally different media just through some minor difference in the small print. Like having 10 variations of scart sockets. FFS.
