Well I suppose they did come back from 1-0 down but shouldn't a performance of the week should include having an opposition to beat :dunno:

AWARD FOR WOLVES AND McCARTHY spacer_green.jpg Wolverhampton Wanderers decisive 4-1 win away to Leicester City in the Coca Cola Championship, last Sunday 5th May 2007 has earned them the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award.

Manager Mick McCarthy will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to be screened on Sky Soccer Sunday this weekend.

Wolves secured their place in the Championship play-offs with a stunning comeback win at the Walkers Stadium.

Mick McCarthy is now looking forward to two play-off matches against their local rivals West Bromwich Albion.

"Whoever wrote the script for the play-offs certainly has a sense of humour," he said.

"They will be two blood-and-thunder ties and it will be an interesting couple of games."

McCarthy added: "West Brom had a great result against Barnsley. They have a strong squad, most managers would probably say theirs is the strongest in the league, and they should be in the promotion shake-up.

"Of course it is good that we are involved but it is only an opportunity and nothing should be taken for granted now that we are there."

I thought coming forward, Wolves were top drawer. Attacking from all angles, passing and moving off the ball at a very fast rate and the trio of Bothroyd, Keogh and Kightly caused absolute havoc in our defence. Defensively they were shoddy and we should have scored more than the one we did. It is hard to see how they couldn't give it to WBA though.
