davieG Posted 6 February 2005 Posted 6 February 2005 Surely he can't be the best current English goalkeeper in the world
Oli Posted 6 February 2005 Posted 6 February 2005 Jame's is a brilliant shot stopper, but his command of his area is shocking. Really unconsistent. Abit of a donkey at times as well, but that was a quality save.

Thats if your talking about English keepers. I would say Petr Cech would be the best non-english.
Ash Posted 6 February 2005 Posted 6 February 2005 I think when fit Kirkland should be our number 1 , the only problems is keeping him fit !
Oli Posted 6 February 2005 Posted 6 February 2005 Kirkland has the worst record this season for letting goals ina dn the amount of games he has played. I frankly think he is over rated.
Anish Posted 6 February 2005 Posted 6 February 2005 Kirkland has the worst record this season for letting goals ina dn the amount of games he has played. I frankly think he is over rated. 63545[/snapback] I agree - Kirkland has been pretty poor this season whenever he has played. He can't deal with crosses and he has let down bad goals in, especially the goal Lee Carsley scored against him in the Merseyside derby.

Simon Posted 6 February 2005 Posted 6 February 2005 Yeah; I think Kirkland is overated, as is Robert Green. But then they are both young and commanding your area comes with age... step forward Ian Walker

Benji Posted 7 February 2005 Posted 7 February 2005 it was a great stop i'll admit but i wouldn't feel safe with him in englands goal again i really rate robinson and hope he stays number 1 for now
Scow Posted 8 February 2005 Posted 8 February 2005 I don't think Robinson is anything special, but he is the best we've got at the minute. I have to agree about Green and Kirkland - Overrated...
Benji Posted 8 February 2005 Posted 8 February 2005 to be fair robinson had enough practise in goal last season for leeds

He hasn't really had the chance to prove himself in the Premiership and he is playing in goal for a struggling Norwich team with (possibly) the worst defence in the league.

He's not as impressive as people make him out to be. And I think playing over 20 games in the Premiership is suffice to judge him. Granted, he's playing behind a relatively poor defence, but the likes of Walker and Robinson have played in relegated teams and have performed very well in the past.
