Maybes Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 http://home.skysports.com/transferarticle.aspx?hlid=470034 Seems like hes on the way to the geordies. Good signing for them imo.
dandannieldanok Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 Good signing until he does something controversial.
JoeyB Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 Should keep Parker IMHO. would be a dynamite CM with and Barton there
lildave3 Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 D Bent - West HamNugent - Everton Lennon - Sunderland Fowler - Celtic Barton - Newcastle Healy - Fulham McCarthy - Chelsea Defoe - Portsmouth Aliadiere - Birmingham Luque - Espanyol Woo, hoo.
Mort Posted 3 June 2007 Posted 3 June 2007 Talented but a total liability and an utter 'nut-case' IMHO... maybe Big Sam is the man to kick some sense into him but i wonder if anyone really is, also losing Parker doesnt make much sense to me

If anyone can get the best out of a useless gobshite like Barton, it's Big Sam.

Fair point, i wouldnt rate Parker as a world beater but he's a pretty handy midfielder to have if your going to challenge for a UEFA cup place... still I'd trust Sam to know what he's doing and that extends to a nutcase like Barton, wouldnt expect Barton to get an amazingly good deal offered from Newcastle but I'm not sure he's really in a position to decline it.

Swapping Parker for Barton might be a decent bit of business. Parker out for 8.5m, Barton in for 5.5m. That gives him 3m to spend elsewhere... and god knows he needs to spend to overhaul that team of wasters.
