Guest Daniel Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Thanks for nothing moley. Ipswhit fans actually think it's a cracking signing. From another site... Town have confirmed that James Scowcroft has signed on loan until the end of the season. Scowcroft's return to Portman Road was predicted by TWTD last week and has been hastened by Shefki Kuqi's thigh injury. The former U21 will make his second Town debut at Preston's Deepdale on Friday night. www.twtd.co.uk Were really pulling together a decent team now. Kuqi injured for a month i think its a perfect replacement
Oli Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Thanks for the goals scowy, my fave is the one against Chelea last season.
Guest Daniel Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 The equaliser agaisnt Leeds was his best goal IMO, 2-2 at Elland Road.
Samu Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I'm not saying everyone's done this but it's really pissing me off the way everyone is saying goodbye like he's done nothing good for this club whatsoever. He has stayed around when most others have gona off to other clubs and has put in so much effort. Yeah he may have had a poor few months and yes he's not a big goalscorer but I think in the time he's been here he's been fantastic, often playing out of position. Thanks for everything Scowy Edited-Also if he hadn't been starting every match then you would have no complaints. He would have been a great squad player, using him occasionally. And the fact that he's been starting is down completely to Levein and Adams, something as to which Scowcroft has no control over.
Scow Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I'm not going to thank Scowy for anything - he's done nothing to repay his £3million transfer in the first place imo. Harsh but I don't think any of his goals were THAT important.Good riddance. 66655[/snapback] To be fair, it wasn't his fault we paid £3 Million. He made a huge contribution in our promotion season, scoring 11 goals from the right wing. The last two seasons haven't been great, largely because he isn't a Premiership striker, never mind a Premiership winger. He started off this season quite well I thought, but once he moved upfront, that co-incided with a series of lacklustre performances. Over the past few months, he's look disinterested and lethargic. I'm glad he's gone, but I'm thankful for what he's done. As Samu said, it's not his fault he was played in nearly every game under Bassett/Adams/Levein, and often out of position.
Alexikokopops Posted 15 February 2005 Posted 15 February 2005 The reason for his departure according to Craig Levein: http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s78/st67145.htm?fromrss=1
Leicester_Mad Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 whoever had a go at his strike rate made me piss. He was out on the right wing for 2 and a bit seasons? Yet you still expect him to bag 300 goals a year Goodbye Scowy and good luck. Premiership Top scorer next season?
Bedford Fox Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Scowie wants to sign for ipswich FOR GOOD!!
