Fox in a Box Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Apparently CL was taking to Joe on saturday with a view to taking slowcroft back to ipswitch. CL wants him off the wage bill now he has MDV. That should save at least £200,000 in wages I rekon @ £15K a week between now and the end of season. Whats the point in keeping a player who will not be around next year. It would be even better if we could swap him for Ian Westlake. Maybe a move for the Arbroath forward hes looking at too.... Lets just hope MDV finds the goal at the other end...
Louise Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Scowcroft Switch James Scowcroft is set to complete a loan move to Ipswich until the end of the season today (Monday). Craig Levein and Joe Royal agreed a deal on Sunday that allows the 29-year-old striker to return to Portman Road on a temporary basis. Scowcroft was part of the City starting line up that was defeat 2-1 at the hands of Ipswich in the Championship on Saturday. The former England under 21 has been with the Foxes since 2001 - hitting the target 28 times in 147 appearances. Assistant manager Robert Kelly will be speaking about the switch at his Monday lunchtime press briefing. Be sure to tune in later today for further news. http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~626851,00.html A new striker must be coming in...or Wright must be being given his chance...
City Fan Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Shame its not permanent! I think we now need a decent back up striker.....
Craig Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Shame its not permanent!I think we now need a decent back up striker..... 66396 As good as permanent. Thanks for everything Scowy, you've scored some important goals for us, but you've not been good enough for us the last couple of seasons.
Simon Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Cheers for everything Scowy. BUT WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Phil Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 yep, rumour flying around in suffolk that he will sign on loan this afternoon
Oli Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 yep, rumour flying around in suffolk that he will sign on loan this afternoon 66458 Unlucky mate. I truely feel for you.
Carlo Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 What a strike rate 28 goals in 140 games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ricey Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 He needed to go, he hasn't been good enough since our promotion season....however he has scored some vital goals. He will be on around £15k at least a week so getting rid of that off our wage bill is great.
Scow Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I think it's excellent news. Ipswich won't be paying his full wages though, but I imagine it will be enough to bring in another striker. He's been poor over the past few months, I think the change will do him good. It will do us good as well...
Guest Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Radio 5 has confirmed it apparently. Bye bye and thanks for the few goals you did manage to score.
Mark Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 BEST NEWS EVER!!!!! Good riddance. I love you Craig Levein

It needs to change for everyone's sake.
Ric Flair Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Does Mad Biker have any news on any new signings?
Mark Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!Good riddance. I love you Craig Levein 66523 Never seen you so happy dude! 66525 Not even when Akinbadbyi or The Antichrist Twatlor left ? 66528 Akinbiyi was better than Scowcroft I was just loving the price fee we got for him. I can't imagine what its going to be like going to see Leicester without seeing Scowcroft, it's going to be wierd, but in a such a good way.
FNQ Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I think this is bad news. Scowcroft has been a hugely important player for us in the last few years - and we will miss him. I don't blame Levein too much if his hand was forced. Lets see who he brings in.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 All I can say is a big thank you to Dion Dublin. It was his jump with Kuqi and his stud in Kuqi's leg that has injured him and made Royle look for another striker. Thankfully it was Scowy. Seriously I don't like to see players injured but something bad for Ipswich has resulted in something good for us. As I've said on another thread, thanks for the goals that you did score Scowy, unfortunately they were few and far between.
Anish Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 I'm not going to thank Scowy for anything - he's done nothing to repay his £3million transfer in the first place imo. Harsh but I don't think any of his goals were THAT important. Good riddance.
MON Posted 14 February 2005 Posted 14 February 2005 Good luck with your carrer. Cheers for the goals. My favourite was the one against leads to make t 4-0.
