Louise Posted 18 February 2005 Posted 18 February 2005 He's supposed to be going on the Century FM football phone in tonight (6pm), they've been talking all week about academies etc. Could be interesting...? Not sure if he's a studio guest or just doing an interview.
stez Posted 19 February 2005 Posted 19 February 2005 heard a bit of it (while in the car on way to the co-op 12 4 6 mccoys and bread) he was just whittering on about nine year olds and how the birch birtles and the knob head burns were wrong to suggest the the acadamy stops kids having fun and its wrong to say they stop them playing footy with their mates, the main worry they have is burn out by the time they are 24. but leicester acadamy has been pretty poor in th past in my opinion excep heskey, joachim, stewart, pipes and hoult thats rubbish compared with forest and derbys

Therefore the academy players have been over looked. We also have had managers that don't give kids a chance. (Mon, Taylor, Adams) But Basset has given the academy kids a chance.
