josedob Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 whoops....so glad I don't work in public relations....as readers comments show - clear no win situation - it's either an abuse of power or taxpayers paying for individual's indiscretion in the public's eyes .... not being leicester taxpayer - I have no opinion - but i do have a hypothetical qustion........if the driver were to get in an accident while driving the city's car - would the taxpayer funded city insurance policy be used or the drivers personal policy??? It would be the city's polic impacted would it not? How is the city paying the ticket any different? Talk amongst yourselves....
Pete_foxes Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/displayN...tentPK=18020631 Music to my ears! To be honest, I'm sick of people who think they are bigger than the Law or people who think they can get away with things just because they are celebrities. There just the same as the rest of us!
DB11 Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 The chauffeur-driven car He wasn't driving so it's not his fault... he doesn't choose where it is parked surely
Blue Bob Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 The driver should pay the ticket if he has parked in the wrong place. Nice to see that traffic wardens are keen to endear themselves to the public even more than they already have!!

Unless the Lord Mayor, being the powerful person he is,ordered his chauffeur to park there. 'Park there, you bloody half breed mongrel or i shall have you thrust upon the hounds back at the Manor'(ALLEGEDLY!) Something like that anyway

Something like that anyway I agree, if he was order to do so - but then the Lord Mayor has no power to do anything apart from opening supermarkets when they cant get someone famous!

If i had a supermarket i'd get that tw@t from the window advert...you know the one???... I said you buy one,you get one free....i said you buy one you get one free!!!!
Geo V Posted 6 August 2007 Posted 6 August 2007 I bet he gets away with the payment! Im not sure how bad Leicester has got in the last decade regarding parking but London is ridiculous as you cant park anywhere without paying OTT pay and displays if they even exist within that area which is bloody rare! Despite owning a car, I get the tube to go to South London when I am picking up my son as a 15 mile drive through London takes about 2 hours when the tube gets me there in 45 mins. I drive to the gym and things like the Shopping Centres were parking is guaranteed part to be honest, I spend so much on cans when going out for the evening and knowing i`ll have a few drinks that I am thinking of getting rid of the motor as its depreciating in value and Im paying bloomin Insurance and Tax on it despite the lack of use!
