The former Sunderland winger has signed a one-year deal with Simon Grayson's side. Welsh spent the summer with MLS outfit Toronto FC, but is now back in English football. The 23-year-old began his career with Stockport before joining The Black Cats in November 2004. The Seasiders have the option of securing Welsh for a second season should he impress he was horrible when he played for us, and he was horrible for toronto fc. I have no idea how he has signed for blackpool he's not even good enough to sit on the bench in the MLS!

Thracian Posted 7 September 2007 Posted 7 September 2007 Grayson might keep him properly fit and let him play as a winger first and a jack-of-all-trades second. Like MON did with Guppy although I sure wouldn't want to compare the two.

How he got them up and has followed that up with some good results this season beggars belief. He is doing a great job up there but is scraping the barrel a bit with signings like Welsh.
