Smudge Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 MM has been in charge since March or so and was unble to reinforce our playing staff before taking over. However the appointment of a Chief Scout didn't happen until the summer when Don McKay brought in N'Gotty and Hellings Cort among others and he was summarily dismissed by the end of July. He seemingly waited until April before he started to look for a replacement for Rob Kelly although watching video of the prior games and a few live games afterwards would have showed him that Rob wasn't going to be his man; two months wasted. He appointed Worthington for five games and eventually brought in Allen; another six or seven weeks wasted. Allen was in charge during June July and August and when the season was into its third week, he fires Allen. Now 6 months have gone and we were headless. I won't drag up the new signings debacle but we will not be able to recruit anyone else other than loaners until January that's nearly a year. After Allen is gone we brought in a guy who everyone knew wasn't going to produce exciting football yet Mandaric wonders why the fans are so pissed off. So he'll blame Megson and we'll be back to February again but I do hope not. So what do we do? Suck it up. I do think the team is a better one than last year and they seem to have more structure. Beating Watford, Villa and holding Wolves to a goaless draw isn't to be sniffed at. If Megson can put right the things he has declared are missing in our team we may have a chance of moving forward. I hope Mandaric sits on his hands and allow some new recruits and good coaching steer us away from the relegation zone. I fully accept that without MM we might not have a football club but we do need good stable leadership.
